Middle East Technical University North Cyprus (METU NCC) Scholarships and Financial Aid

METU NCC offers a range of scholarship opportunities and financial aid to support students in their educational journey.

Tuition Waiver Scholarship Opportunity

  • Tuition fee waiver scholarships (ranging from 25% to 100%) are available to applicants based on their academic performance (National or International curriculum).
  • Applications are regularly reviewed by the international student admission committee.
  • Duration: The scholarship covers five years in the program of study (note: undergraduate programs typically last four years), plus one year in the English Preparatory Program if required.
  • Suspension Condition: The scholarship is suspended for the following semester if a student falls into probation status, defined as a CGPA below 2.00 out of 4.00 for two consecutive semesters. It can be reinstated once the student returns to good academic standing.
  • Eligibility for Scholarship Extension: Students who complete the English Preparatory Program with an overall score of 50.00 or higher or score a minimum of 50 on a METU English Proficiency Exam can continue to receive the scholarship for another year. For detailed information, please visit METU NCC Tuition Scholarships.

Merit Scholarship

  • To qualify for the Merit Scholarship, students must have completed the first two semesters of an undergraduate degree program (excluding the English Preparatory School period).
  • Eligibility is based on achieving a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) that places them among the top 3% of all undergraduate students in their program.
  • For CGPAs between 3.50 and 3.74 on a 4-point scale, students receive a merit scholarship of 585 TL for 8 months (October to May).
  • For CGPAs of 3.75 or higher, students receive a Merit Scholarship of 845 TL for 8 months (October to May).
  • To qualify, students must meet several conditions, including having a GPA of at least 3.00/4.00 in the last two semesters (excluding summer school), taking a normal course load, and maintaining good academic and disciplinary standing.

Student Assistantship

  • Student assistantships are provided to students in exchange for working in administrative offices such as libraries, laboratories, IT, sports complexes, dormitories, and more.
  • Eligibility for student assistantships considers not only academic performance but also financial need and disciplinary suitability.

Support Scholarship

  • Students in need of temporary financial support can apply for the Support Scholarship, which covers essentials like books and necessities.
  • Awarding of this support is subject to the decision of the Scholarship and Support Fund of METU NCC, contingent on students' academic success.

METU NCC is committed to facilitating access to quality education and supporting students through various scholarship and financial aid programs. For specific details on eligibility, application procedures, and scholarship terms and conditions, please refer to the official METU NCC website.
