Scholarships at Cyprus International University (CIU)

Cyprus International University offers a range of scholarship opportunities to motivate and support its students in their academic pursuits.

International Student Scholarship (50%)

• All international students at CIU are eligible for a 50% tuition fee scholarship.
• This scholarship helps reduce the cost of education for international students.

Academic Scholarships

• Prospective students have the opportunity to apply for Academic Scholarships based on their academic achievements.
• The value of these scholarships ranges from 50% to 100% off tuition fees, rewarding academic excellence.

Athletic Scholarships

• CIU welcomes applications for Athletic Scholarships from prospective students who can provide evidence of sports performance at a national level.
• Students involved in Supreme sports leagues or those who actively participate in a CIU sports team can also apply for athletic scholarships.

Scholarship Opportunities for Graduate Students

• Cyprus International University extends scholarship opportunities to Master's and Ph.D. students.
• Graduate students with a valid bachelor's diploma and a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 3.50 or above are eligible to apply for scholarships.

TRNC State Scholarships

TRNC State Scholarships are scholarship opportunities offered by the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) government to international students who wish to pursue higher education in Northern Cyprus.

Eligibility and Application Period

• Generally the application period is from mid of July – to mid August.

Coverage of the Scholarship

• Scholarships include tuition, dormitory fees, and a monthly allowance of 200 USD.

Scholarship Committee and Meetings

• The Scholarship Committee meets twice a year to discuss scholarship matters.
• All scholarship-related decisions are made by the Scholarship Committee.
• Students can contact the TRNC Ministry of National Education or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for inquiries or requests related to scholarships.

Duration and Maintenance of Scholarship

• The scholarship covers the Fall and Spring Semesters.
• Scholarship continuation requires maintaining a minimum academic record (CGPA + GPA) above 2.00 for undergraduate and above 3.00 for graduate students.
• Failure to meet academic requirements may lead to scholarship warnings and, ultimately, scholarship cancellation.
• Scholarships are valid for a specified duration: 10 semesters for undergraduate and 4 semesters for graduate programs.
