Scholarships at Cyprus Health and Social Sciences University (CHSSU)

CHSSU offers a range of admission scholarships to support students' educational journeys, with opportunities for international students as well.

Unlimited Admission Scholarships

  • CHSSU provides unlimited Admission Scholarships automatically awarded upon registration at the university's Main Campus.
  • To be eligible for an admission scholarship, students must apply directly from secondary school to CHSSU for full-time, first-year studies. No additional application is required for consideration.
  • International students are also eligible for CHSSU's Admission Scholarships which is
  • up to 25% and 50%.
  • The university also offers faculty-specific entrance scholarships and awards with varying values and criteria.

Partial Tuition Waiver Scholarships

  • A significant number of international students at CHSSU benefit from 25% and 50% scholarships.
  • To be considered for these scholarships, students indicate their interest during the online application process for academic programs.
  • Decisions regarding scholarship awards are based on the academic performance of the candidate and the chosen academic program.
  • The admission decision from CHSSU will specify whether the student qualifies for a partial tuition waiver.

High Honor Award

  • Undergraduate students who meet specific academic criteria are eligible for the "High Honor Award."
  • To qualify, students must have taken the normal course load and achieved a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 and a cumulative CGPA of 3.00 or higher.
  • High Honor Awards are granted to the top ten students within each faculty or school who meet the GPA and CGPA requirements.

Student Assistantship

  • CHSSU offers student assistantship positions in various faculties and administrative departments.
  • These positions are open to all students and typically require a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Vacancies for these positions are typically announced at the beginning of each semester, and the monthly stipend is based on hourly rates.

 

TRNC State Scholarships

TRNC State Scholarships are scholarship opportunities offered by the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) government to international students who wish to pursue higher education in Northern Cyprus.

Eligibility and Application Period
  • Generally the application period is from mid of July – to mid August.
Coverage of the Scholarship
  • Scholarships include tuition, dormitory fees, and a monthly allowance of 200 USD.
Scholarship Committee and Meetings
  • The Scholarship Committee meets twice a year to discuss scholarship matters.
  • All scholarship-related decisions are made by the Scholarship Committee.
  • Students can contact the TRNC Ministry of National Education or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for inquiries or requests related to scholarships.
Duration and Maintenance of Scholarship
  • The scholarship covers the Fall and Spring Semesters.
  • Scholarship continuation requires maintaining a minimum academic record (CGPA + GPA) above 2.00 for undergraduate and above 3.00 for graduate students.
  • Failure to meet academic requirements may lead to scholarship warnings and, ultimately, scholarship cancellation.
  • Scholarships are valid for a specified duration: 10 semesters for undergraduate and 4 semesters for graduate programs.
