Scholarships at Cyprus West University (CWU)

Cyprus West University (CWU) offers various scholarships and financial aid options to support students in their educational pursuits.

65% Tuition Fee Scholarship for All Undergraduate Students

  • All undergraduate students, regardless of their chosen department, are automatically granted a 65% tuition fee scholarship.

Financial Aid Program

  • The Financial Aid program is designed for highly qualified undergraduate students facing limited financial resources.
  • To be eligible, you must have received an Acceptance Letter from the admission office and demonstrate limited financial resources.
  • The amount of the financial aid award is determined based on your financial need and academic qualifications.
  • Grants are awarded without discrimination based on race, color, gender, religion, or national origin.
  • To apply for financial aid, download the Financial Aid Application, complete it, gather all required documents, and submit it to the Scholarship Committee email (scholarship@cwu.edu.tr).
  • Financial aid covers 70%, 80%, and 100% of tuition fees for exceptionally successful prospective students.

Academic Scholarships

  • Academic scholarships are available, and applications are assessed by the international student's admission committee.
  • These scholarships cover tuition for the Fall and Spring semesters.
  • The duration of the scholarship includes four years in the program of study, plus an additional year in the English Language Preparatory Program if required.

Academic Achievement Scholarships

  • Registered undergraduate students who have completed a minimum of two semesters and have achieved a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 3.00 and a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher are eligible for CWU academic achievement scholarships.
  • These scholarships provide a 70% to 100% reduction in tuition fees, depending on the student's academic performance.

TRNC State Scholarships

TRNC State Scholarships are scholarship opportunities offered by the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) government to international students who wish to pursue higher education in Northern Cyprus.

Eligibility and Application Period
  • Generally the application period is from mid of July – to mid August.
Coverage of the Scholarship
  • Scholarships include tuition, dormitory fees, and a monthly allowance of 200 USD.
Scholarship Committee and Meetings
  • The Scholarship Committee meets twice a year to discuss scholarship matters.
  • All scholarship-related decisions are made by the Scholarship Committee.
  • Students can contact the TRNC Ministry of National Education or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for inquiries or requests related to scholarships.
Duration and Maintenance of Scholarship
  • The scholarship covers the Fall and Spring Semesters.
  • Scholarship continuation requires maintaining a minimum academic record (CGPA + GPA) above 2.00 for undergraduate and above 3.00 for graduate students.
  • Failure to meet academic requirements may lead to scholarship warnings and, ultimately, scholarship cancellation.
  • Scholarships are valid for a specified duration: 10 semesters for undergraduate and 4 semesters for graduate programs.
